These are two of our babies adopted from the Memphis Humane Society when they were 3 months old. We figured McGuire, now 160 pounds, was going to be too big to sell, and his sister, Sammi, born with a deformed foot pad, were the reasons they were given away. The painting “Sophomore Class” was so named because most labs begin their serious training to retrieve by the age of two. This painting has been a good one for me, as it has won a Best of Show and two People’s Choice awards.oil on canvas
