I name all my paintings as I think they deserve to have a real name, and I always thought Hinkel was cute for a schnauzer. My aunt and uncle’s schnauzer was named Hinkel and he was the love of their life. Next to labs, I’ve painted schnauzers more than any other dog. There is a definite love for this breed, and I’m always so surprised at how different they look. I’m partial to the floppy ears, but the traditional cropped ear is the choice for most schnauzer owners.
