Small sailboats called spinnakers were for rent on a beautiful spring day outside Madrid, Spain, giving hope for all of us that winter was finally over. A short trip through the countryside gave me a new appreciation of history and a day in the life of the Spanish people. Once home and seeing this painting in production, Dale Ross wanted her dog, Duffer, a soft coated wheaten terrier, added to this painting in lieu of the small dog that was origionally in the photograph. Since both dogs were very similar in size and color, the change made the painting more personal and is now in the private collection of Dale and Al Ross of Cordova, Tennessee.
